Prompts

Prompt library

Copy-and-paste prompts to start from. A prompt is just the instructions you give an AI, and better instructions get better results.

These are starting points to try and improve. If you find a version that works better, add it below.

Video

Cinematic product clip

Works in: FLUX 3 or Higgsfield

A slow dolly-in on a steaming coffee cup on a wooden table by a rainy window, soft morning light, shallow depth of field, ambient rain and a quiet acoustic guitar. 8 seconds, cinematic.

Turn a script into shots

Works in: Any chat AI

Here is my 30-second script: [paste script]. Break it into 6 to 8 shots. For each shot give: a one-sentence visual description, camera movement, and a text-to-video prompt I can paste into an AI video tool.
Learning

Explain it like a business owner

Works in: Any chat AI

Explain [concept] to me like I run a small business and have never written code. Start with a simple business example, then add the technical detail, then give me one practical thing to try today.
Learning

Quiz me

Works in: Any chat AI

Quiz me on [topic] one question at a time. Start easy and get harder. After each answer, tell me if I was right, explain why, then ask the next question. Stop after 10 questions and summarize what I should review.
Writing

Clean up my dictation

Works in: Eloquent or any chat AI

Here is a rough voice transcript: [paste]. Rewrite it as clear text. Keep my meaning and my voice, remove filler words, fix grammar, and do not add facts I did not say.
Writing

Make it shorter

Works in: Any chat AI

Cut this to half the length without losing the key points. Keep the tone the same and show me what you removed: [paste text]
Business

Compare two tools

Works in: Any chat AI with web search

Compare [tool A] and [tool B] for [my goal]. Use a table with price, ease of use, best for, and limits. Check the official websites for current pricing and tell me which claims you could not verify.
Business

Find the cheapest way

Works in: Any chat AI

I want to [goal] on a student budget. List the free or low-cost tools that could do it, what each one is best at, and the order I should try them in.
Building

Explain my error

Works in: Any chat AI

I am a beginner. I got this error: [paste error]. In plain English, tell me what it means, the most likely cause, and the first thing to check. Do not rewrite my whole code.
Building

Plan a small project

Works in: Any chat AI

I want to build [idea] as a beginner. Give me a one-weekend plan with the smallest version that works, the free tools to use, and a checklist of steps.
Learning

Pull a course into text

Works in: Claude with browser access

Go through my Canvas course and pull the lecture transcripts and slides for every unit.
Learning

Turn notes into a study guide

Works in: Any chat AI

Condense the material I gave you into a study guide, then make the study guide into a PDF.
Learning

Retell a class as a story book

Works in: Any chat AI

Take every concept in the study guide and tell it as a story. Give the historical context, use real-world examples, analogies, etc. I want to be able to have a thorough understanding of all of this by the time I finish the story. Explain difficult concepts by using hypotheticals where needed or, better yet, other historical examples of the effects. Write it like a book, with chapters, formatted the same way as the study guide.

Why prompts matter for business

A reusable prompt is a small business process: write it once, and anyone on the team gets the same quality every time. Companies keep prompt libraries the same way they keep email templates and scripts.
